Why Can’t I Edit Part of the Design? #
The Problem #
You click an item in the design but it will not move, resize, or allow you to edit it.
Why This Happens #
This usually means one of the following things:
- The element is locked
- The element is part of a group
- The element is intentionally protected in the design
- You accidentally selected a different layer
Some Marlow Maison designs include locked elements to protect the layout and keep the design balanced.
How To Fix It #
Try the following steps:
- Click the element.
- Look at the top toolbar for the Unlock icon.
- If it is locked, click Unlock.
If the element is grouped:
- Click the element.
- Select Ungroup in the top toolbar.
If no unlock option appears, the element may be intentionally protected in the design. In that case, please refer to your companion PDF or purchase a Style Change Ticket if you need the element modified.
Important Tip To Remember – You cannot “break” your design! #
If you ever feel like you’ve made too many changes or want to start over, simply click your original Canva template link again. Canva will create a brand new copy of the design so you can start fresh.
