Final Checklist Before Launch

3 min read

You Made It – Launch Ready #

You made it.

At this point, your shop is no longer just an idea — it’s real.

This checklist is here to make sure everything is set up correctly before you fully step into selling. You don’t need perfection — you just need a solid, clear foundation.

Take a few minutes, go through this step-by-step, and check things off as you go.

Your Shop Foundation #

Make sure your core setup is complete:

✔ Shop name chosen and finalized
✔ Shop preferences (language, currency, location) are correct
✔ Shop title is clear and keyword-friendly
✔ All basic settings are filled out properly

Your Shop Branding #

Your shop should look clean, consistent, and trustworthy:

✔ Banner uploaded and sized correctly
✔ Shop icon (logo) uploaded and centered
✔ Branding feels cohesive (colors, fonts, style)
✔ Shop bio written and easy to understand

👉 Your shop should feel like a real brand when someone lands on it.

Your Shop Front (What Customers See First) #

These are the first things visitors notice:

✔ Announcement written and clear
✔ Explains what you sell
✔ Mentions digital products (if applicable)
✔ Easy to read and not too long

Your Policies & Protection #

This protects you and sets expectations:

✔ Returns & exchanges policy completed
✔ Digital product disclaimer included (if applicable)
✔ Processing time is accurate
✔ Contact method provided

👉 No blank sections — everything should be filled out.

Your Listings #

Your shop should have at least one strong listing (ideally more):

✔ Listing title is clear and searchable
✔ Images are high quality and consistent
✔ Description explains what’s included and how it works
✔ Price is set
✔ Correct product type selected (digital or physical)
✔ File uploaded (if digital)

Your Shop Organization #

Your shop should feel easy to browse:

✔ Sections (categories) created
✔ Listings assigned to sections
✔ Shop does not feel cluttered or confusing

Your Images & Visuals #

Everything should look sharp and professional:

✔ Banner fits correctly (not stretched or blurry)
✔ Listing images are consistent sizes
✔ No low-quality or pixelated images
✔ Important text is not cut off

Your Customer Experience #

Think about what happens after someone buys:

✔ Receipt banner uploaded
✔ Message to buyers written
✔ Includes clear next steps
✔ Digital instructions included (if applicable)

Your Communication Setup #

Make sure you’re ready for messages:

✔ Auto reply set up (temporary or weekly)
✔ You understand Etsy’s 24-hour response expectation
✔ You’re ready to respond to customer questions

Take a Final Look #

Before you consider yourself “launched”:

👉 Open your shop as if you are a customer

Ask yourself:

  • Does this look trustworthy?
  • Is it clear what I’m selling?
  • Is anything confusing or missing?

If something feels off, fix it now — small tweaks make a big difference.

You’re Ready #

If you’ve checked most of these boxes:

👉 Your shop is ready.

It doesn’t need to be perfect.
It just needs to exist, be clear, and be functional.

You can improve, refine, and grow over time — every successful shop does.
